Nenagh Film Club Presents
(Dir: James Marsh, UK/USA, 2011, 93mins)
From the Oscar-winning team behind Man On Wire comes the story of Nim, the chimpanzee who in the 1970s became the focus of a landmark experiment, which aimed to show that an ape could learn to communicate with language if raised and nurtured like a human child. Following Nim's extraordinary journey through human society, and the enduring impact he makes on the people he meets along the way, the film is an unflinching and unsentimental biography of an animal we tried to make human. What we learn about his true nature - and indeed our own - is comic, revealing and profoundly unsettling.

Nenagh Film Club Presents
(Dir: Ian Palmer/Ireland/96 mins/2011)
James Quinn McDonagh and Paddy ‘The Lurcher’ Joyce are names that demand attention: men related by blood but separated by a feud that dates back generations. As the heads of rival families, they train to represent their feuding Irish travelling clans, in their long-standing history of violent bare-knuckle boxing. With ‘Knuckle’, filmmaker Ian Palmer presents a hard-edged portrait of Irish Traveller male culture and explores the bond of loyalty and the pressures to fight for the honor of your family name.

While her lack of emotional stability begins to take a toll on Justine's new marriage as well as the party -- and old wounds are exposed -- Claire's wealthy husband John (Kiefer Sutherland) also knows a great deal about a planet that is on a possible collision course with Earth, further muddying the waters. John Hurt and Charlotte Rampling co-star.

Nenagh Film Club Presents
(Dir: Asif Kapadia/UK/2010/106 mins)
This documentary follows the monumental life and tragic death of Brazilian motor-racing Champion, Ayrton Senna. Spanning the decade from his arrival in Formula One in the mid 80's, the film charts Senna's struggles both on track against his nemesis, French World Champion Alain Prost, and off it, against the politics, which infest the sport. Sublime, spiritual yet, on occasion, ruthless - Senna conquered and transcended Formula One to become a global superstar. Privately, he was humble, almost shy, and fiercely patriotic, donating millions to his native Brazil and contemplating a life beyond motor racing.
Yet he was struck down in his prime on the blackest weekend in the history of the sport, watched live on television by 300 million.
