Guinness Girls & Mummy Darlings, Sunday October 8th at 4pm, tickets 15€, location: Solsborough House
What better setting for an event about the daughters of Ernest Guinness than the beautiful Solsborough House? Emily’s latest novel ‘An Invitation to the Kennedys’ is inspired by the true-life events of Kathleen ‘Kick’ Kennedy daughter of the US Ambassador to England and a darling of the 1930s social scene.
When Sir Henry ‘Chips’ Channon invites the Kennedys and a select group of friends and family to Kelvedon Hall, his country estate, Kick discover that beneath the brittle facade of politeness, marriages are on the rocks, political intrigue abounds and nothing is really as it seems – all while the war in Europe grows closer by the day.
