Exhibition, Vision, Frequency, Erosion, and Transformation, 25th Jan – 23rd Feb, FREE
David Harte and Josh Brown’s works share a commonality in that they are related to audio, sound and technology and its potential influence on human experience. However, both the starting points and the
trajectories of each of the artists is distinct, and the resultant works could perhaps be seen as being in opposition.
Dave Harte is inspired by M.I.T. research into the neurological effects of frequency on focus and working memory and is exploring ways to translate these frequencies visually using various media and
technologies. Josh Brown’s work is informed by the cast-off remnants of consumer culture. He works with discarded materials and obsolete devices, creating sculptural pieces which attempt to translate what has been written off into work which questions our current system, asking if, perhaps, there could be an alternative. Recognizing the interesting contrast and correlation within both forms of practice, David and Josh decided to show their work together.
