A few months ago Aileen Hogan of Shabby.ie did an upcycling event with us at Nenagh Arts Centre. I was so inspired by her that I really wanted to paint anything that wasn’t tied down. My first thought was those black tables downstairs as I really wanted to add colour to the foyer.
We started the project at the end of August and with Aileen’s guidance and many hours of careful work by Paul (our caretaker), not only have we painted the tables but we have also up-styled an old sideboard which now hosts our new coffee/tea machine.
So if you have an old piece of furniture, rather than throw it out, why not ask Aileen what you can do to up-style it. You never know you might create a stunning piece that will last for years to come.
