Join Green Foundation Ireland for a special Biodiversity Week event at Nenagh Arts Centre, featuring a film screening followed by a live panel discussion.

The evening centres on The Forest Midwife, a beautifully observed short documentary directed by Beta Bajgart. The film follows writer and social entrepreneur Catherine Cleary as she transforms a barren farm in County Roscommon into a thriving native woodland – a journey shaped by determination, resistance, and a deep connection to the land.

Running at 25 minutes, the film will be followed by a panel discussion and Q&A with Catherine Cleary and director Beta Bajgart, offering further insight into the themes of rewilding, sustainability and personal purpose.

This engaging and thought-provoking event is part of a wider national celebration of biodiversity, inviting audiences to reflect on our relationship with nature and the role we can all play in shaping a more sustainable future.

The event is coordinated by Darragh Wynne, Director of Green Foundation Ireland and Sustainability Coordinator at Technological University of the Shannon.

Duration: 25 minutes + panel discussion
Suitable age: All Ages
