As part of Culture Night 2026, join acclaimed sean nós dancer Ranóg Townsend for an energetic and engaging workshop celebrating one of Ireland’s most distinctive dance traditions.

An All-Ireland Champion sean nós dancer from Lixnaw, Co. Kerry, Ranóg is passionate about sharing traditional Irish dance in an inclusive and accessible way. Whether you are a complete beginner or have previous dance experience, this workshop offers a fun opportunity to explore rhythm, movement and the rich heritage of Irish percussive dance.

Ranóg holds a BA in Irish Music and Dance and an MA in Ethnochoreology from the Irish World Academy at the University of Limerick, where she now lectures in percussive dance. She has performed alongside some of Ireland’s leading traditional artists, including Sharon Shannon, Aoife Scott and Nic Gareiss.

In 2023, Ranóg founded Fite Fuaite Dance, bringing her love of movement and traditional arts to people of all ages and abilities. More recently, she was awarded Dance Ireland’s Spring Artist Residency and a Percolate Residency with Dance Limerick.

Come along, learn some steps, and experience the joy, rhythm and spontaneity of sean nós dancing in a welcoming and relaxed environment.
