For this year’s ever popular relaxing Sunday afternoon event we’re delighted to be serenaded and entertained by author Dara Waldron with musician & broadcaster Fiachna Ó Bhraonáin.
Following the sudden death of his father in 2016, Dara Waldron found himself disoriented in a world that had once filled him with wonder. After rescuing an abandoned border collie into his family home, an unexpected companionship began. As the months pass and their bond deepens, Dara begins to see that Oscar – bred to herd, guard and guide – might be the one doing the rescuing.
• Dara Waldron is a writer and academic and the author of A Sheepdog Named Oscar. He was born in Manchester, raised in Tuam, Co. Galway and has lived in Limerick City and the surrounding areas for the last 25 years. His book A Sheepdog Named Oscar is a New York Times bestseller.
• Hothouse Flower and RTÉ Radio 1 broadcaster Fiachna Ó Braonáin was born in Dublin, Ireland..a child of the sixties! Raised on a childhood diet of traditional Irish music, language, and songs. His teenage years brought him to the wild waters of blues guitar and rock ‘n roll.
