The Last Witch Bridget Cleary – Nenagh Arts Centre

The Last Witch Bridget Cleary

The Last Witch Bridget Cleary, Friday 22nd August, 7:30pm, €15

The Last Witch Bridget Cleary is a powerful one-woman show based on the true story of Bridget Cleary, a young woman from Tipperary who was burned by her husband in 1895 under the belief that she was a fairy changeling. Blending folklore, history, and feminist storytelling, this gripping performance explores themes of superstition, control, and the silencing of women’s voices.
Presented for Heritage Week at Nenagh Arts Centre, the show brings this haunting local tale to life, inviting audiences to reflect on Ireland’s past and the enduring power of myth, memory, and resistance in shaping our cultural identity.
