Macalla Taoide is a collaborative exhibition of printmaking, sculpture and photography by artists Verona Stellet and Carol Kennedy.
Inspired by the sea and Ireland’s coastal landscapes, the exhibition explores the relationship between people and the marine environment, reflecting on themes of pollution, environmental change and the emotional resonance of our oceans and shorelines. The works consider the coast as both a natural ecosystem and a space shaped by human activity, inviting viewers to reflect on the impact of this evolving relationship.
Drawing inspiration from numerous research trips to the Irish coastline, Stellet and Kennedy respond to shared experiences and observations through distinct artistic practices. While united by a common source of inspiration, each artist brings a unique perspective and visual language to the exhibition, resulting in a compelling dialogue between print, sculpture and photography.
Thoughtful, atmospheric and environmentally conscious, Macalla Taoide offers an engaging exploration of place, memory and the changing nature of Ireland’s coastal environments.
