Anseo: Music As Design – An Exhibition by Alastair White & Gemma Williams

Anseo: Music As Design – Exhibition by Alastair White & Gemma Williams, Tuesday, November 10th – 24th, FREE

Launch: Friday November 13th, 6:30pm

Can a landscape become sound? Can music not only be heard, but seen?

Presented as part of Irish Design Week 2026, Anseo: Music As Design explores the space between music, image and landscape, examining how design can give sound unexpected new forms.

At the centre of the exhibition is an audiovisual work by composer Alastair White and curator Gemma A. Williams, inspired by the tradition of the graphic score. The work invites audiences to look at their sense of place differently and imagine the sounds, music and meanings that might be hidden within a landscape.

The exhibition also features White’s performance piece 11 Maps for a Chalk Ridge, a series of graphic scores that reimagine landscape through visual notation.

An invitation to experience the relationship between sound, place and visual art from a different perspective.
