Nenagh Arts Centre is delighted to take part in this year’s Bealtaine Festival, Ireland’s national celebration of the arts and creativity as we age, presented by Age & Opportunity.

Bealtaine invites people of all ages to come together to share experiences, try something new, and celebrate creativity in later life. This year’s programme at Nenagh Arts Centre offers a warm and welcoming series of events from film screenings and creative workshops to social gatherings and artistic exploration – all designed to inspire connection, reflection and enjoyment.

Tuesday May 5th, 3pm – DROP IN
Movie Matinee: Singin’ in the Rain

Settle in for a classic movie matinee featuring the much-loved musical Singin’ in the Rain. Enjoy this timeless film with complimentary teas and coffees in a comfortable and sociable setting.

Wednesday 6th, 13th, 20th & 27th May, 2:30pm – 3.30pm – DROP IN
Age in Movement Dance Workshops

Gentle and engaging dance workshops for older adults, encouraging movement, creativity and connection while exploring expression, wellbeing and the joy of movement in a welcoming and supportive environment.

Small Daily Rituals Art Workshops

Workshops will include print making, textiles and collage, plus conversations to help people decide what they’d like to express creatively about their small daily ritual. Each person will be supported to make something that is personal to them using the materials and techniques they would most enjoy.

Meditative Art Class for Seniors with Melissa Ryan

A gentle, reflective art session designed especially for seniors. This relaxed class encourages mindfulness, creativity and self-expression through guided artistic practice.

Tuesday May 12th, 2pm – 4pm
Craft Workshop: ‘Plastic Petals’ Workshop with Kay O’Donoghue

Enjoy a creative afternoon making seasonal crafts in a friendly and welcoming environment, embracing the themes of renewal, connection and creativity at the heart of Bealtaine.

Tuesday May 19th, 2pm – 4pm – DROP IN
Afternoon Tea & Film

A welcoming social gathering featuring tea, coffee and screenings of short films by Tony O’Donoghue, including Irish Folk Furniture and A Film from My Parish – 6 Farms. A chance to relax, reminisce and enjoy stories of Irish life and craft.

Wednesday May 27th, 7pm – 10pm – DROP IN
Flower Club – Bealtaine Celebration

Join the Flower Club for a special evening celebrating Bealtaine through floral creativity and seasonal inspiration. All are welcome to enjoy the displays and share in a relaxed, social atmosphere.
