In this workshop, Lucy Moore will show us how to create a simple weaving loom using cardboard, string and strips of fabric or yarn. She will also give an insight into and share images from her broader practice as a textile artist.

Lucy is a textile artist, weaver and garden designer who uses local hedgerow and meadow plants to make natural dyes and inks. She has a degree in constructed textiles from NCAD and has received many awards for her woven and naturally dyed work.

Lucy uses natural fibres such as linen and wool in an effort to work as sustainably as possible.

Our weaving will be inspired by the beauty and nature of the bog. Why not go for a walk on a local bog, or look at pictures? Bring any pictures, pieces of fabric or yarn that represent bogs to you to incorporate into your weave.
