Dunne and Hernandez – Lunfardia, Friday 17th July, 7:30pm, €20
The acclaimed Dunne & Hernández Duo return to Irish stages with a reunion tour that promises passion, virtuosity and unforgettable music.
Many concert-goers will remember Argentinian guitarist and singer Ariel Hernández and Irish accordionist Dermot Dunne, who between 2003-2010 brought the vibrant spirit of Latin music to audiences across Ireland, performing in venues from the National Concert Hall to Belfast Opera House and Vicar Street. Their unique partnership blends Ariel’s soulful voice and masterful guitar playing with Dermot’s instrumental brilliance, moving seamlessly from the drama of Tango to the rich traditions of Chacarera, Zamba and Chamamé.
After returning to Argentina in 2010, Ariel settled in the artistic region of Carpintería, immersing himself in its deeply rooted musical traditions, recording extensively and performing at festivals throughout the region.
Their debut album P’al que se va takes its name from a song about journeys and homecoming, a fitting sentiment as Ariel now returns to Ireland to reunite with Dermot. Following a hugely successful Irish tour in 2025, the duo once again take to the road, performing the dances and songs of Argentina alongside beloved classics, from the baroque era to iconic cinema scores.
An evening of warmth, rhythm and world-class musicianship awaits.
