Through her art, Melissa Ryan aim to spark the viewer’s imagination and evoke a sense of joy and wonder. Her inspiration is drawn from two deeply personal landscapes—life on her farm in Ireland and her early years growing up in the Australian bush. She’s drawn to capturing the spirit of animals and livestock, the stillness of everyday rural life, and the ever-changing beauty of the Irish countryside. Texture, shape, and colour are central elements that help define and evolve her artistic style.
She works primarily with acrylics and oils in my paintings, while her textile creations are lovingly handcrafted in her home studio using upcycled and natural fabrics.
Surrounded by colour and grounded in nature, her creativity flows from the world around her. Each piece—whether painted or sewn—is a reflection of what lives within. The journey continues…
