In Honour of Sarah – An exhibition by Grace Roberts, March 16th – April 8th
Launch: Thursday March 19th, 6pm
Rich in emotional resonance and visual complexity, this deeply personal body of work explores the layered themes of memory, transformation, and the quiet inheritances passed down through generations. Through organic forms, subtle textures, and ghostly traces, Roberts invites us to reflect on what we carry, what we shed, and how we emerge.
The exhibition is dedicated to the artists’ late mother, Sarah, who once ran the much-loved Treasure Chest antique shop in Limerick City. Though she never saw her daughter’s work exhibited, this show becomes a symbolic reunion – an offereing of presence through art.
Using an unusual mix of materials, and layered media, the artist crafts intricate visual meditations on ancestry, identity, and emotional legacy. Figures emerge subtly from the backgrounds, like memories rising to the surface, while patterns and botanical forms evoke the natural cycles of growth and release.
Grace Roberts is a visual artist living and working in County Clare. She holds an MA in Media and Communication and a BA in Visual Comunication, and has exhibited widely in solo and group shows across Ireland. Her work explores connection, memory, and emotional legacy through a tactile, symbolic visual language.
