Deirdre invites you to not just view, but to feel, to lose yourself in a sea of colour, motion & meaning.
Her paintings use abstract forms, textures and a colourful palette to evoke deep emotion.
Occasionally Deirdre reaches dry land, in the form of a landscape, but the emotional ebb and flow of the water is never far away.
Originally from Australia, now living by Lough Derg in Garrykennedy, Co. Tipperary, Ní Fhaoilleacháin’s unique style of painting has evolved from a lifetime of play and experimentation.
Painting in acrylics and oils she finds freedom of expression in conveying feelings and emotions in her work.
With the use of vibrant colours and gestural mark-making, she creates a visual language that is both emotive and visceral.
