Programmed as part of Cruinniú na nÓg, and established to support Filmmakers who create work for young audiences, the festival is supported by Nenagh Arts Centre,
Creative Ireland and Tipperary County Council and National Talent Academy #NCFF24

Smartphone Filmmaking and Video Editing Workshop

Here at the Dublin Smartphone Film Festival, we celebrate and support smartphone filmmakers like you.
Through our smartphone filmmaking and video editing courses we demonstrate how you can harness
the power of your phone to unleash your creativity and showcase your talent to the world.

- Short stop-motion animations created during our Easter Camp with BrickFlicks
- Short animations made during the National Youth Film & Animation School over the last two years Young Irish Filmmakers supports the growing network of youth film and animation groups around Ireland
- Established in 2019 the National Youth Film & Animation Network is an ongoing project that brings together individuals and groups working with young filmmakers and animators throughout the country by Young Irish Film Makers
Learn How to Make a Stop-motion Paper Puppet Workshop
With Studio 9
In collaboration with National Talent Academies
Time: 2:30pm – 4:30pm
Age: 8-12
Participants will design and draw a character and environment working from prompt words.
They will then develop the character into a movable cut-out paper puppet and develop
a very simple background to complete the scene.
Acting for Camera Workshop
With Lewis Magee
Time: 5:00pm – 7:00pm
Age: 12-17
Learn fundamentals and basics of performing for the camera in a safe and fun environment for young people to be creative.
